The Frosting On The Internet Marketing Cake!
Teri & I love Internet marketing – the business of Internet marketing, the daily activities of Internet marketing, interacting in the Internet marketing industry and the entire Internet marketing lifestyle – being together 24/7, making our own hours, traveling extensively throughout North America, speaking at some Internet marketing conventions and attending others, the comfort level Internet marketing provides financially – we love it all!
But after 12 years online full-time, you know what the best thing is about Internet marketing? The one single thing that makes it all worthwhile – the frosting on the Internet marketing cake?
It’s YOU!
You. The people who read our blogs. The people who visit our websites. The people who read our e-zines. The people who buy our products. The people in our affiliate program. The people we do joint ventures with. The people we meet at the seminars & conventions. The people on our teleseminars and webcasts. ALL of whom we consider our ‘online family’.
Even for a hard-core, in-your-face marketer like me, with a certified Type-A+ personality, it’s meeting You. Hearing how we’ve helped You. Hearing that You’re doing ok, or better than ok online, in small part because of what we do. What makes all of this worthwhile is that You’ve put Your trust in us, had faith in us, and we’ve delivered… Because to Teri & I, the goal of our entire Internet marketing empire is to help You, the people we care about, to enable Your own efforts to live Your dream lifestyle.
You see, helping You achieve that while having a fun and exciting life is OUR dream lifestyle. Yes, the big income and the shiny toys, the travel, prestige and fame are great – I wouldn’t even try to deny that. But it would be too hollow for us if that was the full extent of it – it’s knowing that what we do helps YOU, in Your daily life and the progress towards Your dreams and ambitions that really gives us our buzz…
And that’s why getting to the live public events is so important to us – because that’s where we get to meet You, to hear how You are doing, and to find out what we can do next to help You get to that next level, overcome Your current obstacles, break through the barricades to step that much closer to Your dreams!
This past weekend we had that opportunity again, attending the 2008 World Internet Summit in Toronto, Canada.

2008 World Internet Summit, Toronto, Canada
And much to our delight, once again we got to meet up with old friends and meet new members of our online family…

l-r, Dennis Palmer, Teri Champigny, Doug Champigny

l-r, Eugene Cheung, Birgit Ratz-Cheung, Doug Champigny, Teri Champigny,
John Cussons, Jit Uppal
A huge Thank You to the people above, and to the other friends, new & old, that we saw & met there – you’ve recharged our batteries and given us the motivation to keep helping all we can. Enough to carry us through Christmas, New Years and right up to the JVAlert Live event in Orlando Florida on February 6, 7 & 8, 2009.
Tell me…
Will YOU Be There?
If there’s any way at all you can make it to JVAlert Live next February, please do – and be sure to look us up when you get there! Don’t be shy – Carol, Eleanor, Dennis & Jit had never met us before, though they were long-time readers of our e-zines. Now they’re new friends we hope will stay in touch – maybe even come down and spend a day in Niagara Falls or Niagara-on-the-Lake with us!
So please, bookmark this blog and watch for updates about the Onlando JVAlert – as soon as our friend Ken McArthur has selected the event hotel and gets the early-bird tickets online, we’ll post all the information right here for our online family. And I mean it – we really do look forward to meeting You at JVAlert Live in 2009!

Hey Doug,
You’re right about not being afraid to approach people at seminars and especially with you and Teri.
You are always eager to meet and greet others graciously, willing to spare a few minutes to get to know people that attend.
Hell, I had known you for 4 years online before we finally met at JV Alert in Philly!
And can’t wait to see you and Teri in Orlando poolside with our laptops! ;~)
Adios,
Jeff

Way to go, Doug! You said it just right. You point out what I’ve said for years: It doesn’t matter what business that you are in, the business is nothing without the people! It’s all about the people. Whether it’s employees or clients, it’s still people. >> Ted <<

Doug,
The people, you, Mike Paetzold, Jeffrey Levesque, Joel Osborne and the other members of our Team, like John Cussons, Earl Netwal, Andre Arnett and Glenn Seymour and the rest of them are what really make my Internet Marketing worthwhile. Having met you, Mike, Jeff and John in person was the Icing on the Cake!
Most Internet Marketers sit in their homes in the dark and are hermits of some sort. However, even though we work at home, we should still get out and meet each other when the opportunity is available.
Going to JV Alert Live in Philly this year was the highlight of my year (up until the birth of our 7th daughter next month
)
I’m doing everything I can to get to go to the February event in Orlando. I can’t explain how important it is to actually meet each other in person.
Hope To See All Of You Soon,
Charles Burleigh

Hey Doug,
Great post. You’re right about meeting and helping people being the icing on the cake.
I don’t get ‘out and about’ as much as I should to live events, but even ‘talking’ to people via live chats or emails is a wonderful feeling.
It was great meeting you and Teri a couple of years ago as I passed through Canada while on vacation. My daughter and I had a fantastic time chatting with you both and touring Niagra Falls.
Take care!
Denise

I own and operate an e-Book website, but I can not tell you how much your blog has helped me find my direction. There is just ton’s of information out there in cyberspace and yet you never fail to shed some light on any question I come up with just by reading your blog. I am not a traveler yet to various summits but when I am I look forward to meeting two people who have helped me tremendously.
Thanks
Ron

Hi Doug:
Networking is a fabulous way to connect with people. In the IM Sector, folk gather for the express purpose of learning and sharing experiences, with the common goal of success for all.
The depth of knowledge and expertise available is freely shared and long term friendships are often formed. It is a venue like no other.

Hi Doug and Teri,
It was wonderful to meet you both at the summit and you made my mother Eleanor’s day. I was especially touched when Doug kneeled down to talk to mom so she wouldn’t have to stand. Hoping to see you both again soon.

I couldn’t agree more with you Doug. When you, Teri, Stuart, Barry, Gina, Liz, Willie, Joel and I all were able to get together it was an incredible event and not only that but we got to meet a ton of great people, both people just starting out as well as top marketers.
But for me, as for you, it goes way beyond just getting together, it’s that incredible feeling we get from having helped someone else out.
Keep up the great work,
Xavier

Dear Teri & Doug,
Meeting you two was the highlight of the 4 day event for me. You are both so approachable and helpful. Doug, the information you gave me about list building made the whole process just a little more understandable for me. I will definitely follow your advice and consider that I have made two new wonderful friends.

I also can not agree with you more. After all, I met you and Teri at The Marketing Seminar in Sandusky, OH. And have been friends ever since.
The information, tips and secrets that can be learned at these events are amazing.
Can’t wait to see you both in Orlando.
Love you guys,
