Hope your day is off to a great start – and that you’re making it a profitable one… A couple of quick notes for you today, so please take a minute to read right through – there’s even some great new bonuses for you!

List-Building Guide A Big Hit!

First up – response to James Penn’s list-building book yesterday was incredible, as dozens rushed to his site to grab the report – guess it’s time I put together an Advanced List Building System for you – watch for that later in the summer… But for now, be sure to pick up this powerful starter guide while it’s just $10 – download James Penn’s list-building guide now!

790 Megs Of Premium PLR!

I did a great interview with Carl Galletti last night and had hoped to have it ready for you this morning – Carl revealed some astonishing info about his massive PLR sales event on now – will try to rush that together for you in time for tomorrow, as it turns out the package is even better than I thought but the cost is going up in a few days…

How Marketing’s Big Dogs Got That Way!

OK – the bonuses I mentioned above are for you when you get Ian del Carmen’s new Rags To Dot Com Riches bundle that details how a lot of the big dogs got to that level; Ian buzzed me last night to say I could give you these new bonuses with your order:

5 New Bonuses From Ian del Carmen

That page just shows the 5 bonuses – hit the ‘Tweet This’ link at the bottom of the page, then the link to see the bundle itself…

Power Tip: The bonuses are yours if you take the full bundle – but if it’s a bit pricey for you, there are a series of other pages you’ll see when you go to exit the site, each with a different subset of the whole package, ranging from $47.00 down to free. Best idea is to take the full package and get the 5 bonuses, but if it’s too big a stretch right now, take one of the smaller packages.

Empowering YOU To Dominate 2009…

In the posting on Monday about the upcoming teleseminars and interviews, the first item on the list was the Advanced Twitter Marketing teleseminar with Alex Sysoef.

I’m pleased to report that the teleseminar was amazing – scheduled for one hour, it ended up going over 1½ hours in length, thanks to heavy audience participation. It was great being able to answer so many questions for people about the Advanced Twitter Marketing System and about Twitter in general and Internet and affiliate marketing on Twitter in particular.

Special thanks to those from the UK, Europe & Australia who stayed through the whole call, even though the time difference meant you were listening to it live from 2am til 4 am in some cases – I’m truly honoured that you’d stay up for that, and sincerely hope I was able to show you how the Advanced Twitter Marketing System can be of great help to you in your online business.

For those of you who were unable to make the call, never fear – Alex has arranged for you to download the recording of the teleseminar for free, along with the case study that shows how the Advanced Twitter Marketing System came into existence and why it’s so powerful for marketing your online or offline business through Twitter.

To download your copy of the call, just head over to Alex Sysoef’s Advanced Twitter Marketing Teleseminar download page.

Next up for live appearances is Willie Crawford’s Blog Talk Radio Show where Willie will also be grilling me about the system – Willie was one of the beta testers for Advanced Twitter Marketing, so his insights will be sharp, and I’ll have to be on my toes – he’s one of the web’s top interviewers. The show is Thursday at 3pm Eastern, so be sure to bookmark the page and be there then to have any questions answered, ok?

See you then!

The Advanced Twitter Marketing System, my newest project, launched on Friday and has become an instant hit! And no wonder – it’s the first guide to marketing on Twitter that really does teach you to how to turn your Twitter marketing birdie into a soaring eagle, bringing in targeted traffic, e-mail list opt-ins and increased PROFITS!

The problem until now has been that all the guides by the so-called ‘Twitter Experts’ have been written by people who got big followings any way they could, with no regard to whether those people are in their target market or not… That’s not marketing, it’s a popularity contest! True dyed-in-the-wool marketers don’t want to waste their time trying to sell to people who don’t have a need for the products in question – and they don’t want to bug those people by telling them all about something they have no interest in.

Instead, real marketers want to find as many TARGETED prospects as they can, to help those people get products they need while pocketing the bounty that produces. It’s a true marketing win-win: The customers get the info, products or services they want, and the marketer makes a lot more money for the same effort.

And that’s exactly what our Advanced Twitter Marketing System teaches! How to make money on Twitter WITHOUT wasting precious time or spamming the people there who aren’t interested in seeing your ads.

Take affiliate marketing on Twitter… Every day I see tweets and blog posts from people complaining about getting affiliate marketing tweets on Twitter. How silly! First, you only see the tweets from those you sign up to follow – so if you don’t want to see affiliate marketing tweets, simply unfollow the senders… Duh!

But the blame rests in part with the affiliate too – at least if he’s not consciously targeting targeted followers on Twitter. While there’s no way to ensure that your every Twitter follower is targeted, you can certainly do a lot to keep it mostly targeted, and avoid the activities that tend to get you non-targeted followers.

To my mind, not doing all you can to target your following and then sending marketing or affiliate tweets comes awfully close to spamming people on Twitter – and in fact may be. But be that as it may, the greater sin is in not maximizing your profits, your targeted traffic or your list building on Twitter through not taking intelligent, concrete steps to build your Twitter following fast while keeping it mostly targeted!

“Sure,” you’re thinking. “That’s easy to say, but just how am I supposed to do that? I already spend too much time at Twitter!” For you, like for those who tell me they ‘tried’ Twitter but it doesn’t work for marketing, I have a simple suggestion…

Go to the Advanced Twitter Marketing System website and read the testimonials there. If you’ve been in the biz for any length of time you’ll recognize some of the names there, so you know the testimonials are legit – these people are beyond reproach. There’s more than a dozen of them there, from Big-Dog Guru to complete newbies – and they all say the same things. They tried the System, got hundreds of targeted followers, drove targeted traffic to their sites, blogs, squeeze pages and affiliate links, got opt-ins and made money – in their VERY FIRST WEEK of USING OUR SYSTEM!

So now the choice is yours… Continue on using Twitter day after day as you have and be a very popular pauper, or become a Power-Wielding Pro using the Advanced Twitter Marketing System!

Now what was it they call someone who does the same thing day after day but expects the results to change… ;-)

From what I’ve seen lately, many marketers – even advanced marketing experts, aren’t using Twitter effectively, but are allowing it to take a lot of time away from their blogging activities. So let’s take a look at what SHOULD be happening, starting with your Twitter marketing…

Most Twitter users still don’t know the basics of the site. You don’t need to choose between Twitter and blogging because the social network is considered a micro-blogging site as well. You can blog about anything as long as you stay at or under the 140-character limit. The short blogs are more personal and you can post anything.

What can you do on Twitter? Once you’ve created your own profile page, you can now post blogs. You can do it every minute, every hour, or a few times everyday. You can also follow bloggers and other users, create conversations by replying to the tweets sent to you. Through constant conversation, you can easily build good relationships. You don’t need to log to the Twitter site all the time because you can also receive and reply tweets through your IM or mobile phone.

However, there are also bad points in using Twitter. Your blogs will be limited to only 140 characters. For those who want to post longer blogs, Twitter is not for you. You must also use the code provided in giving replies.

Many new users commit certain mistakes in using Twitter. Some of them don’t use real pictures, they send too many impersonal tweets, they use AutoDM wrongly, etc; don’t commit these mistakes so that you can have more fun in using the social network site.

If you don’t want to get bored, you should find targeted friends on Twitter and get as many followers that are operating in or interested in your niche as possible. If you can’t find targeted friends, encourage your e-zine readers and site visitors to join so that you can start using Twitter. It’s very easy to join and it’s free. Before long, you’ll find new JV partners, affiliates and prospects you didn’t know about before.

Try to post useful tips and interesting articles along with your links. Reply to the messages you receive. If you simply give some of your precious time in sending tweets and in communicating with your followers, you will have a great time using Twitter.

Micro-blogging is for people who want to write short blogs. Blogs are usually long and in Twitter, you will only write very short blogs. It is more personal and you can let everyone know what you’re doing. Just remember that not everyone using Twitter is there for marketing purposes, so keep trying to target those you follow, as that helps to targeted your following as well.

Aside from blogging, Twitter is also for social messaging. Its’ very easy to type status updates. Interact with people online or through your mobile device when travelling, at Tweetups, or even at JVAlert Live Internet marketing events. There are also small groups on Twitter that help you in coordinating activities or events especially when some of your friends or followers are from the same area.

All in all, Twitter is a business instrument, social messaging, micro-blogging, reporting service, and marketing utility. Twitter or blogging? The best use for Internet marketing, affiliate marketing or niche marketing is to blog as you always have, then use Twitter to invite new people to your blogs…

This is especially true for affiliate marketing since many good products have lousy salespages, and a good pre-sell is needed – and 140 characters just won’t cut it. but blogging a great pre-sell page, then inviting your Twitter followers to read your blog post can do wonders for your bottom line!

So in answer to the question posed by the headline, if you could only choose one platform for advanced marketing your blogs are superior. But since you don’t have to choose, using both your blogs and effective Twitter marketing in tandem will get you the best results!

The fastest-growing, most powerful Web 2.0 site for Internet marketers and affiliate marketers is Twitter – no doubt about it. Yet most online marketers have yet to take the time to figure out the ins-and-outs of Twitter – they just sign up for an account and start sending our their posts, called ‘tweets’ on Twitter.

Today I want to shed some light on the process of ‘retweeting’ – passing along tweets from others to those following you on Twitter. Remember that what you see there and what your followers see is different – each person creates their own ‘Twitterverse’ based on who they choose to follow. Twitter is whatever you want it to be, since the only tweets you see are those from those people you’re following – and not the tweets made by anyone else. So unless someone is following all the same people you are, the tweets they see – and in fact their whole Twitter experience – will be different from yours.

Failing to retweet some of the posts you see is the ultimate ego-centric mistake on Twitter. The people following you do so because they expect great information from you, whether it be general conversation, business talk of links to your sites, blogs and affiliate promotions. People should know what to expect from you based on your bio at Twitter – if you’re using it for marketing purposes, make sure your information there reflects that.

So if you’re sending out great tweets in line with what your followers expect, wonderful! But if that’s all you’re sending out, it’s like you’ve decided no one else knows anything about that topic, or that your followers don’t deserve any more insight than you can provide. Tsk tsk – such blatant conceit! Obviously through the course of every day you’re going to see great information posted by others – so why wouldn’t you pass that along to the people following you?

Since most of them wouldn’t see it otherwise, you should be passing along information from others on a regular basis. Obviously you wouldn’t retweet a competitor’s link to a product you’re promoting, but that still leaves a lot of other posts you can pass on… After all, don’t you appreciate it when others retweet YOUR tweets?

If you find that none of your posts ever get retweeted, either what yo’re sending isn’t truly usefull to your followers or people have noticed that you don’t send retweets yourself, and have decided not to help you that way either. Either way, shape up – or you’re wasting your efforts with your Twitter marketing. Become known for being a usefull and helpfull supplier of quality tweets and retweets and your following will soar – fail and you’ll languish in the Twitter doldrums. It really is up to you.

Now granted, retweeting isn’t that easy on the Twitter site itself, which is one reason that software like TweetDeck is so popular. This free software provides a more organized and configurable interface for using Twitter, including one-click retweeting. But retweets can still be sent from your Twitter page…

To do that, copy the entire post you want to retweet, including the ID of the original tweeter. In your message box, type ‘RT @’ (without the quotes) and then paste in the tweet you copied. You need to include the @ sign because the ID as it shows in your Twitter feed doesn’t include it. If the retweet is now too long, over the 140-character limit, look for ways to shorten it without changing the meaning or disabling any links or the original tweeter’s ID. Common shortening steps include replacing ‘to’ or ‘two’ with 2, replacing ‘for’ with 4, etc.

There’s another side to retweeting too – not only are you passing additional great information and resources to those following you, but having the original tweeter’s ID in the post means they’ll see it too. Most will remember this and be more receptive to retweeting some of your tweets as well.

The other issue with retweeting shouldn’t need to be mentioned, bt experience has shown me it DOES need to be addressed. When another Twitter user retweets one or more of your tweets, THANK THEM! They’ve passed long your info, put your link out to their followers, and in essence have identified you as a good source of information. Almost every time ou get retweeted, you’ll see a few more people sign up to follow you – and these are thanks to the person who sent your info to their existing followers. So whenever you see someone retweeting one of our posts, hit reply and send a simple “Thanks for the RT!” or something similar.

When it comes to marketing on Twitter, retweets are one of your best weapons – both your retweets of other’s best posts and your posts that get retweeted. Use your best judgement, follow the retweeting etiquette described here, and have a fun & profitable time using Twitter as an ongoing part of your overall online marketing strategy.

The power of Twitter and WordPress blogs are brought together through a fantastic WordPress plugin called Tweet My Blog. The brainchild of John Merrick and Soren Jordansen, this is one of the most powerful plugins for the Internet marketing, niche marketing and affiliate marketing bloggers.

Once set up in your blog’s Plugins section, the software posts your new post titles to your Twitter account with a link bank to the post every time you update your blog. While you could do this manually, we’ve all gotten too busy at times to do our full procedures with the Web 2.0 and social networking sites – and other times simply forgotten to let our Twitter followers know that we’ve posted valuable new information.

Well no more! Now you can simply put the Tweet My Blog plugin into your wp-content/plugins/ directory, activate it, tell the plugin what your Twitter ID and login information are, and go back to happily blogging away, knowing your posts are all being announced and linked to for your Twitter followers to see.

NOTE TO CURRENT TWEET MY BLOG USERS:

This morning John and Soren announced an update to the Tweet My Blog plugin – an update to allow for recent Twitter changes in the shortening of URLs posted in tweets as they show up at Twitter. Upgrade to the new plugin now, since your existing plugin will not function properly since the changes at Twitter.

Upgrading is super simple, though, so no worries there. Log in to Tweet My Blog and download the update, unzip the three files in the plugin directory, and upload them over those same three files as they exist on your site right now. That’s it – it retains your existing configuration and Twitter login information, so no more action is needed. Once done, your blog posts will show up as valid links back to your blog from Twitter once again with each new post.

If you’re not using Tweet My Blog yet or need to get the update, simply click here for the Tweet My Blog download. If you need more information on using Twitter as part of your Internet marketing, affiliate marketing or niche marketing promotional efforts, see the information on the Road To Twitter Success website.
