If you’re not using the DoFollow Plug-In and CommentLuv Plug-In on your blogs, you’re missing both a major draw to get targeted traffic coming to your blogs to post comments, and a fantastic way to make your blogs more interactive and user-friendly for your readers.

By enabling both plug-ins, you’re rewarding those who leave approved* comments on your blog by giving them both a link back to their blog’s main URL and a link to their latest post’s permalink, both of which can help in their SEO & PR quests.

When I spoke onstage as the reigning Web 2.0 Targeted Traffic Expert at Carl Galletti’s Internet Marketing SuperConference at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas in June 2008, I had yet to be introduced to CommentLuv. But it would have been a featured part of that presentation if I’d have already known about Andy Bailey & his marvellous bit of coding!

And to make it even better, as an incentive to get you using and supporting the blogs that use CommentLuv, they have announced a contest for the next couple of weeks. Want to win some cool prizes?

Here are the rules:

1. You must be registered at CommentLuv.com and have your site URL registered and verified.
2. You must complete your profile at CommentLuv.com.
3. You cannot spam – but as a reader of Internet Marketing with Doug Champigny, you never would anyway, right?
4. You do not need to have CommentLuv installed – but Do It!

How to win an instant prize:

- Start by leaving a relevant comment here – even if you don’t win, you’ll get both the links back to your blog and add points to your personal ‘Karma bank’.

- If you’ve won, your last blog post will come back with a prize notification attached.

- Click on it to get to the winners page. If you haven’t won yet, go back to their site and see the list of participating sites, and try again on another one.

For more info, see all the details in their CommentLuv Contest FAQ

Good Luck!

*Approved Comments: When you add the DoFollow tag to your blogs, unscrupulous types will try and autopost to your blog comments. I use the HashCash Plug-In to stop the auto-posters, and so far it works beautifully. Also, turn on the ‘All Comments Should Be Held For Moderation’ in your Admin Panel – that way you can stop silly comments like ‘Nice Post’, ‘Great Site’ or those with less-than-polite terms/comments/suggestions, and save your Luv for people who take the time to make real, intelligent & related comments about the issues in your blog posts.

Disclaimer: This contest is being run solely by CommentLuv. Doug Champigny & this site have no say in, influence nor control over any aspect of the event, including but not limited to their site, the contest, the selection of winners or the delivery of prizes. Please refer all enquiries to the CommentLuv Team via their website.

As most people know, I was asked to share my Web 2.0 expertise in June ‘08 as a speaker at Carl Galletti’s Internet Marketing SuperConference. But even though I’m already a Web 2.0 Traffic Expert, there’s always more to do and always more to learn in this game…

Just a few minutes ago, my friend Willie Crawford pointed out a great new WordPress PlugIn called twitter-this. It makes that little button show up under this post that lets you twitter the link to your own twitter account – hit the button now and see how it works – don’t worry, I’ll wait… ;)

(You ARE following me at Twitter, right? And Willie Crawford? Hate to see you miss out on our 140-character pearls of wisdom… ;-) )

OK – you’ve tried the Twitter this button now and seen how it works, right? And you can see the Twitter badge in the sidebar that shows my last blog post, right? It’s linked to my Twitter account too (SuperAffil). So people see my latest post, and can click through if it’s of interest to them.

Now to tie it all together, hit the button in the sidebar for Tweet My Blog. Once you install that little beauty, your blog will autopost your post headline & a link to your posting each time you blog.

So now you have Twitter driving traffic to your blog posts, your blog driving people to your Twitter account, and have made it easy for other people to add your blog posts to their Twitter postings. This can help build your blog traffic and your followers at Twitter, which again results in increased web traffic.

Now for the ‘piece de resistance‘, hook your Twitter into your MyBlogLog account as well. (It’s in the sidebar here too – the one with all those smiling faces on it. :) )

Now your Blog post automatically gets added to your Twitter postings, with a link to it, and that Twitter posting is picked up by MyBlogLog and added to your postings there. So now your one posting gets added to your Twitter and MyBlogLog, and your Twitter gets added to MyBlogLog too – and all with no more effort than you’re using right now to post to your blog!

Pretty silly not to put in the 10 minutes work now to get this all set up, and help turn your blog into a traffic-generating machine, isn’t it? After this initial 10 minute spurt of energy, the benefits continue while you’re back to just posting and moving on – truly set-and-forget.

Gotta love that Willie guy! :) Thanks for that one missing piece that let me set up this system, Willie!

Got yours all set up? Well, whatcha waitin’ for, then? Scroll up and DO it! Now!

Then stop by Twitter & say ‘Hey’ to Willie for me, ok?

To your Internet marketing success…
