Here’s The Proof…
One Time Offers work. Plain and simple. Backend promotions pay off in spades, usually in a much better ratio than building complete new websites. After all, think about it for a minute…
All the work you put into creating your product, building your site, writing your promotional e-mails – we’re talking a lot of valuable time. Even with great launches, you’re still looking at lower dollars per hour than you’d like, right? But then you spend 20 minutes adding your One Time Offer, 10 minutes adding some related links to products or affiliate opportunities to your product, 10 minutes putting a ‘Bonuses‘ folder in your download zip and 20 minutes writing the first couple of followup messages to your buyers…
And in that one hour extra, you’ve doubled, tripled or even quadrupled your profits from the site! Those are Beautiful Backends, and the subject of my newest e-book released just this week.
The official Beautiful Backends website has the e-book at $47.00 with Master Resell Rights & the salespage & download page thrown in as free bonuses – for now. Yet I chose to give it away for the first two weeks… Why?
The first, and most obvious reason, was that it coincided with my JV invitation to participate in Mike Mazzella’s Lightning Giveaway. Always a first-class giveaway event, participation as a JV partner & donor is limited to the ‘big dogs’ of Internet Marketing by invitation only. That way Mike ensures he gets top-quality gifts for the visitors who are referred to the site, and it works out well for everybody involved.
So using a brand new, high-powered e-book as my contribution was a no-brainer – it fit Mike’s criteria perfectly, and had never been available before that. And in the first 12 hours alone, 167 people subscribed to my e-zine to download their free copy of Beautiful Backends. By the time the giveaway is over in 14 days, that number will reach between 500 and 1,000 if past events are any indication. And after that, it will be available as a paid download from it’s own site only.
The second reason for putting it in the Lightning Giveaway was to prove the whole Beautiful Backends mantra, that One Time Offers make money online – even in Free Giveaways!
After the first 12 hours, here’s what had happened:
- I had made $192 in affiliate commissions from people I sent to the site buying the event’s One Time offer.
- When a person signs up for my e-zine through the event, they’re presented with a One Time Offer – that OTO had produced $51 in sales during that first 12 hours, and…
- On the download page for the gift there are some recommended resources below the download link – those links had made me another $24 dollars during that period.
So in that 12 hour period I made $267 in profits while I was off working on another project – all from the backend of an event giving away free e-books! THAT’s why I call the e-book Beautiful Backends!
Now $267 may not seem like much, but do that every day and you’d be making almost $100,000 a year – enough to get by on in most countries. Granted, I don’t come up with a new e-book every day or particpate in a new giveaway every day, but remember too that the Beautiful Backends web site is just one of over 70 sites Teri & I have online in the Champigny Web, so there’s income from at least some of those every day too.
And the Backends don’t stop there, either… About 1 in 10 to 1 in 20 who download the e-book will put it online to resell. I don’t make anything from that, nor from THEIR One Time Offers either. But each time someone sees those pages, or even a promotional e-mail about that page, my branding is carried a little bit further as someone who doesn’t know about me sees my name and info for the first time. Multiply that by the 10 or 15 e-books I’ve written, the PLR Tutorial videos, plus bundles like the InternetAudioVideoPRO bundle & the Secrets Of The Super-Bloggers bundle and you can see that’s a lot of exposure worldwide.
Equally important, in each of those e-books there are two or three pages at the back with links to additional resources we sell online. They’re not obtrusive – I put them at the very back intentionally, so they don’t interfere with the readers’ learning or enjoyment of the publication. But most will look through them once they finish the e-book. And since they know they got more value than they paid for in the book, there’s a trust factor there that might not be present otherwise. So some will find resources they can benefit from and they’ll click through and buy them, either for themselves, to resell or both.
As time goes on, the e-book downloads grow exponentially as more and more resellers put them online, and so too do our profits from the links in them. And each new e-book I write adds to that, growing over time. Want proof? Try a simple search at Google and Yahoo! for ‘Doug Champigny’ and for ‘Teri Champigny’ – while the numbers go up and down, at time of writing you’ll find about 50,000 combined references to us at each of those two engines.
