Yesterday, I told you about the launch of a new list-building service
called List Bandit. Today, I’m going to give you the proof of how
powerful list-building sites can be, and why YOU should be using
them in your Internet Marketing mix.

The site launched a scant 18 hours ago, and look at this screen capture
from my account there:

First, notice that the account level is Diamond – the highest paid level on the
site – you’ll see why that’s important in a moment. Next, take a look at the
four numbers marked as A, B, C & D.A: 278 Matrix - This is the number of people I’ve referred, combined with
the number of people they’ve referred as well – since I get to e-mail them
all too. In the first 18 hours, I referred 100 people – the rest are their referrals.

I meant to get this posted for you first thing this morning,
but there was just too much weekend this Fathers’ Day – we
had to pick up our kids, see both families, then drop the
kids back off at their places. Between the 950 mi. (1500+KM)
of driving, 18 hours over 3 days, and temps above 30C (86F),
it just wiped us out.

I have arranged for you to save a few bucks today, but
first need to clear something up. There’s been a lot of
people talking about making good bucks online without a
list lately. Can you really?

=====Warning: Rant Approaching!=====================

Yes – on a one-off JV. But then what?

Yes – if you have REALLY deep pockets and can handle
  PPC amounts in the thousands, up front.

No – not if you want to build something long term.

I have never met ANYONE who consistantly makes good
bucks online without a large list of their own. If the
people who tell you you don’t need one truly believe
that, why does EVERY ONE OF THEM require you’re e-mail
be added to their list before they’ll give you the info?
Why are they using JV’s, PPC, giveaways, etc, to build
their lists every way they can?

BECAUSE IT’S THE ONLY WAY TO BUILD A LONG-TERM BIZ
FOR YOURSELF ONLINE… PERIOD.

Never, ever pass up a way to build your lists, or to
learn new or unique ways to do so – and regularly review
what you do know about it to be sure you’re still building
your lists every way you can. If you’re focussed mainly on
any other part of your online biz, either change your focus
or stop wasting time online and use the time with your
family, friends and loved ones.

Sorry to be so blunt, but it really bugs me when I see
people who are doing well online giving people the wrong
ideas about what it takes to get there online. Those raking
in the most have the biggest lists, period. Marlon Sanders
has over a million on his list, and NO ONE does better as
an individual. A company named Agora does the big niches,
has a list of over 3 million, and made about $270,000,000
online last year. A friend of ours who turns 24 this
week has over 100,000, and did almost a mil last year.

You get the picture. Don’t opt for the easy way out -
it’s called a way ‘OUT’ for a reason. Use at least 50% of
your time online learning about and building your lists.
That’s the best advice I can offer anyone at any stage of
their online biz – most of the rest of the great tips only
kick in fully once you have that list started and growing
constantly. If you do that, we look forward to seeing you
at the live events, in the top holiday spots, and other
places we enjoy that take the big bucks to get there.

In a great post, Tinu Abayomi-Paul posted 15 Powerful Traffic Tips. To compliment that list, I want to add our most powerful traffic source to date – adding an affiliate program to your site!

Regular readers of our Marketing Domination E-Zine already know that we feel there’s only one web site hosting plan to use for your first 10 sites, in part because your $20 a month gets you the hosting for those 10 sites, unlimited pro autoresponders AND your own affiliate program.

If you’re new to having your own affiliate program, be aware that for products that are digital downloads (i.e. e-books, software, audios, teleseminars, webinars, etc.) you can forget trying to get affiliates if you’re offering less than 50% commission. Standard rates now run from 50% to 75%, with super-affiliates getting 60% to 100%.

You may think giving someone 100% commission stops you from making any money, but a big dog can send you dozens, hundreds or even thousands of visitors/buyers, many of whom end up on your mailing list – making you more money in the long run than this one sale would. And if you’re creating your own products, this gets your name and products out in front of thousands more people, branding you in a much wider field worldwide.

At first, too many Internet marketers ignore or hardly consider their branding – big mistake! Because Teri & I ran our own full-service ad agency before coming online 11 years ago, we were well aware of the power of branding – the effect it has on your biz when ‘everyone knows your name’. As a result, for example, when we went to the live events in Philly & Orlando (JVAlert) and Baltimore (Marketing Main Event), EVERYONE we spoke to already knew who we were and at least some of our 50+ sites, and we didn’t get turned down once for the JV’s we asked people to do with us. THAT’S the power of good branding!
